Shaman
:
A word derived from the Tungas language of Siberia, it is a generic term for healers and spiritual leaders in tribal societies. Traditional shamans induced trance states through drums, dancing, ingesting hallucinogens, self-mutilation, fasting, deprivation and virtually any means by which one might achieve an altered state of consciousness. While in such a trance, the shaman crosses over into another world to get information for his people such as the cause of illnesses and other misfortunes.

Back from the Amazon
I had been living in a world that was not making much sense. I wanted answers....this is what led me to Peru on a voyage of self-discovery. After selling all of my earthly possessions, On April 20, 2006, I traveled to Pucallpa Peru, pop 200,000, located at the edge of the Amazon. It is from Pucallpa that the largest journey of my life began. A few weeks later, I was living in the jungle with a native tribe called the Shipibos, near Lake Yarinacocha. While in Peru, I met other world travelers and seekers of Truth and together we searched for a Master Shaman/ curandero/ native healer/ medico. While in the jungle I worked with a sacred tea called ayahuasca that has been used for centuries by native people in Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru, for curing patients of illness, healing trauma or addiction, and depression. One year later, I find myself in a modern jungle - the city of Los Angeles California - the heart of "The Modern World", with One Desire: To share my new understandings about LIFE. I just published a memoir in November 2008, which is a personal narrative of my search for Truth. I see a new world emerging from its dream of separation, and I am excited to share my discoveries with others.

Looking through our eyes, we see what we are being taught to see. Our entire system of education and society revolves around people making money to buy things so others can make money. When we look beyond this modern day reality, we begin to uncover a line of common Truth which exists Eternally. It is from this Truth and by this Truth that all exists. All religions have pointed to the same Truth. Ayahuasca, can lead one's awareness into a realm where the Truth is understood at a level of felt experience. It can't be fully described because one experiences things in a way that is beyond the limitations of words. However once Truth is Known, magical things begin to take shape in one's life as the power of Spirit awakens into a new dawn of experience.

A lot of people ask me, "What is an ayahuasca experience like?" My answer: Life Changing.
Reality is viewed from a totally different perspective - beyond the body and mind -
And beyond the limitations of time. A person sees things is a different light.

Ayahuasca feels something like this:
